Hough Building

1885, age 50 - Purchased business at Hough Building, Third and Silver Streets, Lake City. With partner George F Richards purchased the existing Reynolds grocery store, renaming it Patz & Richards. After Conrad's death, C P Foster took over Conrad's half of the partnership.

June 1885, age 50 - Recorded in the Colorado Census at Hinsdale County, Colorado

25 August 1886, age 51 - Retired. Disolved partnership of "Louis Weinberg Co" with Weinberg continuing the business alone.

July 1887, age 52 - Mine property transfer. Transfered four mining properties to wife Henrietta including the Parnell, Cleveland, Apex, and Nellie Wash lodes.

1888, age 53 - Discovered the Pride Of America Mine gold deposit. Conrad and his two partners, Charles M Schaye and Harland F Smith, discovered the ore along Henson Creek, 6.3 miles west of Lake City. The mine yielded modest amounts of gold, copper and antimony until commercial mining ended there in 1977.

17 August 1893 - Land Patent issued. Mineral lode land patent #COCOAA-028343 was issued to the late Conrad and his two partners for the Pride Of America Mine.
